Kate Bush speaks!
Kate Bush is one of my longtime musical heroes. When I was younger and just beginning to explore my place in music, I drew inspiration from her incredible songwriting and brilliant production skills. I credit her with being a key influence in my decision to study the art of audio production.
Admittedly, I’ve been out of the Kate Bush loop as of late, so I couldn’t believe my ears today when I heard a new track off her new album Aerial on KEXP. Not only did I get that delightful surprise today, but I also stumbled on yet another Kate Bush gem: an interview on BBC’s Front Row program. Kate is known for being especially private—she has successfully managed to keep her personal life outside the spotlight her entire career. Consequently, this peek into Kate’s world is a rare treat.
