Madness Factor

As you can see, Madness Factor got a makeover. I’ve switched my blogging software from TextPattern to WordPress, so there still may be some hiccups in presentation, etc. I’m thankful I was lazy about posting these last few months, ’cause I had to manually port every post — yikes! The import function in WordPress didn’t seem to work for me.

I’m learning the WordPress ropes, so there may be wonkiness here and there. I’m finding that for blogging, WordPress has more built-in functions that I want. With TextPattern, things like archives are not built in. That’s probably because TextPattern can be used for much more than blogging. I just didn’t want to do that much digging around in the code.

In addition to the software migration, I’ve also switched web hosts, and I’ve had some lingering DNS issues. I think I’m on the way to getting them resolved, but the last couple of days typing in my domain name has produced some weird results: sometimes I’d get to my new site, sometimes I’d be pointed to the old, and other times I’d get no results at all. I called my new web host and they said they fixed the error. While I seem to be landing on my new site consistently now, I’m still seeing errors in the DNS report, so it looks like I’ll have to call them again.
